The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-0 and are the only team left in the NFL that is undefeated. They have been lit up with injuries to key contributors but that hasn’t derailed them.
Early Wednesday morning, the Chiefs made a blockbuster trade, acquiring receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans. He will step into a massive void and give them a valuable veteran playmaker. The Chiefs are expecting the 32-year-old to be out there in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Chiefs News: JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mike Danna Missed Wednesday’s Practice
According to Nate Taylor of The Athletic, receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) and defensive end Mike Danna (strained pectoral) both missed Wednesday’s practice.
This isn’t a surprise for Smith-Schuster, who was ruled out by head coach Andy Reid on Monday. Meanwhile, the Michigan product has been nursing his pec strain for the past week. He missed last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers as well.
The Chiefs will likely have to work through this AFC West contest against the Raiders without these two veterans but they have the players and coaching to do so. Even though Hopkins was just acquired, getting him into the fold is massive for the passing attack. He has reliable hands and the utmost professionalism.
As for the defensive side, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will have that unit ready to fly around. Kansas City has torched the Raiders lately, winning 11 of the last 13 matchups. They’ll look to continue this dominance on Sunday.
