The 24-year-old wideout avoided life-threatening injuries when the bullet narrowly missed his vital organs. Ricky Pearsall was hospitalized for one night and resumed working out with the team the following week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Pearsall has had a strong week of practice and is “full-go” for Sunday’s game.
Earlier this year Pearsall was drafted 31st overall, his versatility will be a welcome addition to the Niners’ offense. And with wide receiver Jauan Jennings banged up, Pearsall could fill the role for Samuel and Aiyuk, both of whom possess star qualities. Pearsall’s ability to play both offense and make an impact on special teams makes him the kind of intriguing option for the team, but how many snaps he gets is still unclear.
Brock Purdy on his newest weapon at practice: “When you have a guy like Ricky (Pearsall) who can win man-to-man matchups, that opens up other guys.”
