The post has since been taken down but it only adds to the idea of there being trouble in Pittsburgh after a quarterback change.
Deshon Elliot is one of the newest additions to the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. The safety signed a two-year, $6 million dollar contract and has gotten off on the right foot with the team in his first six games.
That is until he caused a bit of a stir on social media on Tuesday with a photo dump on his Instagram; one picture, in particular, was a photoshopped image of Steeler’s head coach Mike Tomlin’s face swapped onto Osama bin Laden’s head.
The now deleted post had a caption on it that read “Osama bin Tomlin.”

The Steelers have taken a few days to mention anything about the matter but have still declined to comment. Elliot has gone on record as saying that he thought the photo of Tomlin was funny.

All of this comes at a time when the Pittsburgh Steelers may or may not be having some drama behind the scenes. Tomlin is one of the last few coaches in the league who has a seemingly old-school mentality in his approach to coaching.
This past week, he announced a quarterback change from Justin Fields, who has led them to a 4-2 start this season, to Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson, who was acquired in a trade with the Denver Broncos this past offseason.
The switch is rumored to have been meant with some disagreement in the building.
There has been no connection between Elliot’s social media post and potential issues between the team’s players and their head coach. Still, there seem to be signs of things not being so hunky-dory at the Steelers facilities this week.
