FRISCO – The bye week came at a much needed time for the Dallas Cowboys. Following a 47-9 blow out loss to the Detroit Lions, it became clear the team needed a reset before a crucial stretch to close the season. Quarterback Dak Prescott has since taken that message to heart and applied it to his activities this week. His festivities started with proposing to girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos to start the week. The two welcomed Prescott’s daughter to the world earlier this year. For the weekend, Prescott makes a return to his college stomping grounds.
Mississippi State will see its former quarterback in attendance Saturday afternoon in a matchup with No. 14 ranked Texas A&M. The football program posted a video to its X account Friday night with Prescott encouraging fans to show out at Davis Wade Stadium for the SEC matchup.
Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, their quarterback is far beyond his college eligibility, unable to help the 1-5 Mississippi State squad. Prescott remains one of the best passers to come through “Hail State,” leading the Bulldogs to a memorable 10-3 campaign in 2014, his junior season.
Mississippi State won its first nine games that season and earned the No. 1 spot in the first ever release of the College Football Playoff Rankings. After Prescott enjoys the return back to his alma mater, he and his team have their work cut out to close the season strong. Nonetheless, it has been a much needed and much deserved step away from the NFL limelight these past few days.
