The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season has become a tale of mounting frustrations.
With 13 turnovers in just seven games, their performance has left their loyal fan base wondering when — or if — both sides of the ball will finally click.
The situation grew more complex when Micah Parsons, the defensive cornerstone, was sidelined with an ankle injury sustained in Week 4.
His absence over the past three games has created a noticeable void in the Cowboys defense.
With Dallas sporting a 3-4 record and on the fringe of playoff contention, former NFL player T.J. Houshmandzadeh dropped a bombshell suggestion with Parsons still awaiting a contract extension.
“So at this point … if I’m Micah Parsons, you think I’m playing another snap this season? I’m done. I’m done. Because I had a high ankle sprain. That’s your warning. [Brandon] Aiyuk was your example. Like you, you can’t risk it if you not gonna pay me what I’ve earned. Why will I risk it? And we’re basically playing for nothing,” Houshmandzadeh said on “The Facility.”

The Cowboys’ defensive woes deepen with cornerback Trevon Diggs ruled out for the Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
The numbers tell a sobering story, as the team has allowed 77 points in the past two outings, a statistic that’s particularly alarming given the continuing absence of Parsons and DaRon Bland.
With both All-Pros set to miss another week, the defensive struggles could intensify.
As the season unfolds, a pressing question emerges: Should Parsons follow Aiyuk’s example and prioritize his long-term future over immediate play?
For a team already grappling with challenges, the answer could shape not just this season but the Cowboys’ trajectory for years to come.
