The Kansas City Chiefs most likely had yesterday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders circled on their calendar.
This past summer, a viral video showed Raiders players goofing around with a Kermit the Frog puppet dressed up as Patrick Mahomes. When the Chiefs quarterback was asked about the video, he boldly said, “It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”
Mahomes indeed handled it as he had his revenge in the Chiefs 27-20 win over the Raiders. Mahomes was 27 for 38 with two touchdowns and 262 yards, and he found Travis Kelce for the first time in the end zone this season.
The Chiefs quarterback would also move to an astonishing record of 11-2 against the Raiders.
The real story here is a funny social media post by Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill.
In an Instagram post after the Chiefs win, Tranquill shared a few pics from the game, but it’s the caption that specifically had Chiefs fans grinning ear to ear.
#Chiefs LB DRUE TRANQUILL ROASTS THE #RAIDERS ON IG
“Kermit & the boys vibin’ out in Arrowhead West 😊🐸”

The caption would read, “Kermit & the boys vibin’ out in Arrowhead West,” with a smile face and frog emoji to go along with the caption.
It looks like Mahomes would let his on-field performance speak for itself, but it would be his other teammates who showed they had his back with a few jabs back at the Raiders for their playful video about Mahomes and how he sounds like Kermit the Frog.
The comparison between Mahomes and the leader of the Muppets began back when he first got the starting job for the Chiefs and would do press conferences. Many people found the similarities uncanny.
If anybody needs to find motivation to keep pressing on, it’s the defending champions. At 7-0, despite any criticism, they are the standard in the NFL right now.
In Week 9, the Chiefs turn their attention to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As for the Raiders, if they want to even things out—and maybe they want to be the ones to get even now—they’ll get a shot on November 29th when they have their rematch with the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
