Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson is on track to miss another game with a hamstring injury. Wilson sat out against the New York Jets because he was limited that week, but he has now missed two straight days of practice after aggravating the hamstring injury in Wednesday’s practice.
With Wilson likely out, the Steelers could look to elevate wide receiver Brandon Johnson, who only has one elevation from the practice squad left before he must be put on the 53-man roster to play again. He would replace Wilson’s snaps directly, and Johnson played ten snaps against the Jets.
Wilson missed the first five weeks of the season with a high ankle sprain he suffered during training camp. Now, the hamstring injury sets him back even further. At this point, it is fair to question if Wilson will get a bigger role at all this year with his lack of playing time, not just on game day but on the practice field.
