With the recent announcement that the Carolina Panthers are trying to trade for Diontae Johnson, the San Francisco 49ers need a wide receiver like him.
With the recent injury to Brandon Aiyuk, putting him out for the rest of the season, and Deebo Samuel out possibly for a couple of weeks due to pneumonia, Diontae Johnson would fit great as a WR1 role for the Kyle Shanahan offense. Diontae Johnson has played great for the Panthers this season, racking up 30 receptions, for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, his talent is being wasted on a poor Panthers team that is still rebuilding and is having trouble with their quarterback play. Johnson would be a major get for the 49ers as they are very slim on the outside and down their best receivers.

Carolina Panthers Receive – 2025 3rd Round Pick and 2026 7th Round Pick
Johnson is still on the same contract that he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and he is making about $10 million dollars per season. Johnson would not be much of a heavy bargain, so I could see the 49ers trading a 2025 third Round Draft Pick and a 2026 sevent Round Pick for Johnson. This will give the Panthers much-needed draft picks as they need help in every position on the field. It is a win-win for both teams so it is a MUST the 49ers make this move sooner than later. The 49ers should be competing for a Super Bowl this season and when they make this move, they will get back on track!
