Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback gets excellent news after injury scare

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson is okay after suffering a shoulder injury against the New York Jets. Sources told PennLive that Jackson suffered an AC Joint Sprain but would have a chance to play against the New York Giants.

Jackson will be limited early in the week during practice, but head coach Mike Tomlin said that he does not expect it to hurt his availability for this week’s game against the Giants. The Steelers are expected to sign cornerback C.J. Henderson to their active roster after multiple teams tried to poach the former Top-10 pick.

However, that will not be due to Jackson’s injury. The Steelers expect to get more help back from their injured reserve list soon. Cornerback Cory Trice should be ready to return after the bye week. Meanwhile, suspended cornerback Cam Sutton should be back for their game against the Washington Commanders.

All of that is to say this cornerback room will be strengthened and much healthier after the bye week. Either way, Jackson is expected to play and his injury is minor.
