PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers expect running back Cordarrelle Patterson, linebacker, and safety Damontae Kazee to return against the New York Giants.
Patterson missed the last three games because of an ankle injury suffered against the Indianapolis Colts. Now, Patterson will be back as the RB3 behind both Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris.
Matakevich suffered a grade 2 hamstring strain against the Denver Broncos and was promptly placed on injured reserve. The Steelers will open his 21-day window, and they could get the key special teams contributor back into the fold.
Kazee nearly played last week, but the team opted to hold him out for another week out of an abundance of caution after he rolled his ankle before the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, their safety room should be back to full strength.
Cornerback Donte Jackson has a minor shoulder injury, an AC Joint Strain, which might limit him early in the week. However, Tomlin said that he does not expect Jackson to miss Monday’s game against the Giants.
