The Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) head out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers (3-3) in a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl. The Chiefs will look to remain unbeaten against a team that has struggled this season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ season has been average by his standards thus far, completing 69.4 percent of his passes and averaging just 247 yards per game while throwing six touchdowns and six interceptions. The Chiefs dominated the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium heading into their Bye two weeks ago. Their first three games of the season came down to the last play of the game, and they rallied from an early 10-0 deficit to beat the Chargers in Week 4.
Mahomes is missing receivers Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown who were lost to season-ending injuries, and running back Isiah Pacheco. The return of Kareem Hunt sparked their win over New Orleans as he tallied 102 yards and a score on the ground.
The defense has been the real catalyst to their 5-0 start getting timely turnovers and holding opposing offenses down. They are top 10 in both points and yards allowed this season.
